Canadian alternative band Ravenscode has recently released their latest single, “World Alone”, a crushing depiction of internal anguish.

“World Alone” is a raw expression of loneliness and despair, with hauntingly honest lyrics that rip through the music and hit hard. The song takes the listener through the push and shove that happens internally, as we beg for a form of support that may never actually come. Whether it’s reality or simply a distorted perception, “World Alone” speaks from the perspective of someone who feels incredibly alone, and deeply misunderstood. It’s a cry for help that comes from a place of intense turmoil.

With powerful riffs and aggressive drums, “World Alone” creates an unsettling atmosphere from the beginning. Ravenscode conveys these feelings of anger through slight and smooth shifts, building up towards the explosive chorus that brings it all together. Citing Seether and Breaking Benjamin as musical influences, Ravenscode manages to bring a fresh sound to its predecessors; “World Alone” is heavy and effective, all while staying away from any 2000s rock nostalgia. It’s a cathartic release for anyone who feels the walls closing in on them, which is as universal as it is gut-wrenching.
