Zack Keim releases “25 Years,” earning Spotify All New Rock feature

Date:

Indie rock artist Zack Keim‘s newest track, “25 years,” just dropped on Jan. 8 ahead of the Battery Lane album, set to release Feb. 7. An unconventional, buoyant folk-pop style trademarks Keim’s music, which has gained him over 100,000 plays on his top Spotify single, “Better Days.”

“25 Years” came to life while jamming in the studio with his producer, according to Keim. He added:

“We were messing around with a chord progression I had, when out of nowhere the line ’25 Years, 24 Nights’ slipped out subconsciously.”

While on tour in California, Keim played the song for his guitarist, who helped him revisit it in the studio and morph it into the well-polished track that it is today.

About what “25 Years” means, Keim said:

“the song captures the feeling of being trapped in time, like it takes 25 years, 25 nights just to start understanding. It’s the pain of waiting for something to shift, even when you don’t know exactly what that something is.”

“25 Years” was recently added to Spotify’s All New Rock playlist. You can hear it live when Keim takes the stage for his album release show on March 8 at Spirit PGH in Pittsburgh.
