Independent LA-based artist Anna Scholfield, formally known as Skofee, has released a beautifully rapturing new single titled “Someone to Worry About.”

Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Skofee built her passion for music around her parents’ influential love of folk and bluegrass. Melding together hypnotic and candid lyrics with beautifully crafted harmonies, her finely grained timbre and powerful voice will draw you into an imaginative, dreamlike, escapist state of awe, storytelling, and appreciation for the deeply rooted messages of her music. She explains more:

“I’m attracted to songs that admit fault and work through emotions in real time rather than presenting the conclusion wrapped up with a bow. it’s more interesting to be in the point of tension as a listener; the in-between.”

“Someone to Worry About,” following after her EP Joyland (2023) and latest single Idaho,” gives listeners a preview of the yearning and moody alternative/indie pop vocals Skofee is capable of. This song creates what is felt as a “big ball of angst,” providing details of a relationship unravelling before the listener’s eyes (and ears) as heard in the lyrics: “Stood on the corner, foot in my mouth / I wanted to give you more than a couch / where we’d talk for hours til I’m running out / ‘Cuz I was afraid to be worried about you.”
