Taylor Roche holds on to summer in “Coastline”

Date:

New Zealand artist Taylor Roche has released “Coastline,” an electro-pop track reminiscent of Troye Sivan‘s work, about the perfect golden season. With an atmospheric production driven by a pulsating beat, the new record perfectly encapsulates the feeling of longing for the highs of an unforgettable summer.

Its subdued yet addictive chorus instantly transports the listener to a nostalgic point in time as Roche sings, “We could run up and down the coastline / North, south, west, we’d chase it all night / See every color in the sunrise / I wanna know what that’s like.” The singer-songwriter reveals that “Coastline” was inspired by “a summer that felt like a dream,” adding that “it was my way of trying to hold on to that memory forever.”

Since debuting in 2020 with “Never Like That,” Roche has released a string of singles that have collectively amassed over a million streams on Spotify alone. He has built an online following of over half a million followers on TikTok and Instagram, receiving attention from artists like Billie Eilish, Finneas, Joe Jonas, and Shania Twain
