SAINT KID shares his journey to embrace change in “Gorge”

Date:

19-year-old artist, producer, and songwriter SAINT KID released his newest track, “Gorge”, on July 26. Born in upstate New York to a family of touring musicians, SAINT KID learned early on what it means to live through your own art. After teaching himself bass, piano, drums, and guitar, SAINT KID began to produce his own music and collaborate with other artists. Graduating high school early, he took a renovated school bus across the country to Los Angeles, where he continues to build his career as a musician.

Known for ambient and textured sonics, vulnerable melodies, and painful lyrics, SAINT KID blends acoustic elements with samples of deep forests and rivers in his music. In “Gorge”, he sings about his experience moving away from everything familiar. About the song’s meaning, he added:

“[Gorge is about] the things that have an impact on you, the things that leave a mark. The memories that will live forever and remind you of something if it may not be the same as it was in the past. Scared to lose love, scared to lose ‘home’. Trying to be comfortable in new places but feeling out of place. Learning how to embrace Los Angeles as home.”

The track’s riveting guitar chords supported by a strong, clapping beat make “Gorge” a song you will not want to turn off. SAINT KID’s lyricism adds a level of musical depth well beyond his years.

Upon the track’s release, SAINT KID shared his gratitude on Instagram:

“Gorge. It is the most extraordinary honor to share this one. Thank you.”
