Navigating survivor’s guilt in Kat Meoz’s new single “Burn Down”

Date:

Rising within the Las Vegas alt-rock scene, powerhouse artist Kat Meoz has released her newest single “Burn Down.”

Testing the boundaries between genres, Kat alchemizes influences from modern pop and rock-and-roll to blues and alternative rock in an explosive amalgamation of sound with popular singles such as “Run Tonight,” “Whatever I Want,” and “Royalty.”

In addition to her unique sound, Meoz solidified her permanent spot in listeners’ hearts at the very beginning of her career. From sync placements with brands such as Pepsi and PlaySation and being featured in multiple TV series to being recognized as “Featured Artist of the Game” by the Vegas Golden Knights, it’s no wonder her artistry is capable of captivating millions worldwide.

“Burn Down” was produced and cowritten by Todd Spadafore and features guitar played by Liv Slingerland (Portugal. The Man, Post Malone, Halsey). The song captures the disorienting whirlwind of emotions that comes with a sudden loss; a life cut short where the remaining survivors navigate the shock, confusion, and survivor’s guilt surrounding it. An edgy, pace-driven single with heavy percussion, listeners are forced to sit with the discomfort of the spiraling emotions.

Detailed lyrics like “What a way to go / They found him in his room with a snow globe, found him all alone with a bloody nose / When were you going to show me what you wrote? / Kept it to yourself and fed me false hope” display the pain of reliving the scenario over and over again.

Much more can be anticipated from this talented artist. Stream “Burn Down” now.
