Movements capture an electric energy on “Cherry Thrill”

Date:

Movements have taken a step in a new direction with the release of “Cherry Thrill.” A departure from the band’s typical post-punk sound, the single has a glowing alternative/indie-rock influence. However, this feels like a natural evolution, and the heart of Movements remains unscathed. The band has said, “Cherry Thrill is definitely a departure from the ‘typical’ Movements song…As this band has grown and changed, so have our tastes.” They are excited to “explore a new sonic wave, while still maintaining the core of what (the) band has always been.”

While writing “Cherry Thrill,” vocalist Pat Miranda did not draw upon personal experience; he explains, “This was the first song that I decided to write that has absolutely nothing to do with an actual experience in my life. It’s fully fictional.” The song is “essentially a modern-day Bonnie & Clyde story.” “Cherry Thrill” has an addictive, electric energy, and fans are eagerly awaiting Movements‘ next record. Until then, check out the “Cherry Thrill” Visualizer, created by Anthony Purcella, and catch Movements on their upcoming fall tour.
