Mia Day Shares Alternative Rock Gem “Mountain Song”

Date:

Music has always been a means of expression for Mia Day. The Seattle musician started playing ukulele and banjo at age 9, wrote her first song at 11, played her inaugural show at 12, and dropped her debut album, Gold, a collection of strummy Americana with true emotional heart, at 18. Inspired by Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers and 90s-00s mainstays like Radiohead, Oasis, and The Killers, she perfected her skills at Loyola University in New Orleans.

Strong from this rich musical background, Mia Day just returned with “Mountain Song“. This new song is an alt-rock slow-burn anthem that captivates with its simplicity. The stripped-down instrumentation allows listeners to immerse themselves fully in the beauty of Mia Day’s voice.

In the wake of personal struggles, Mia Day found solace in music, channeling her experiences into her upcoming album, “Hellier, Forever” (May 17th). “Mountain Song” is an example of this collection of songs, born from what she describes as a “hell year”, and reflects her resilience and determination to survive.
