Lily Meola Tries to Save Her Relationship In New Song “Gasoline”

Date:

Lily Meola is no stranger to the spotlight. At a young age, her undeniable talents allowed her to work with influential figures in the music industry such as superstar producer Bob Rock, country icon Willie Nelson, and singer-songwriter Jackson Browne. Her latest release, “Gasoline”, is a cute country love song perfect for a summer adventure.

“Gasoline” is about trying to stay in love with someone. Through sweet harmonies and simple acoustic guitar, Lily Meola reflects on the positive memories from her relationship. However, she sings, “You and I, we’re fading like / The midnight sky meets the morning”, showing that she knows the relationship is facing challenges. In the chorus, she wishes that “hearts could run on gasoline” so she could prevent the state of the relationship from getting worse.

Reflecting on “Gasoline”, Lily Meola shares:

“This song is about wishing there was a quick fix remedy for when you’re having relationship troubles. Like taking Advil for a headache, or feeding yourself when you’re hangry. Wouldn’t it be so sweet if you could just pull up to a gas station and fill up your heart with love?”
