Florence + the Machine makes “Everybody Scream” with new, title-track single

Florence + the Machine has shared the first single and title track from her upcoming album, Everybody Scream. The release comes just one day after the announcement of her sixth studio album which is set to be released on October 31 of this year. This comes a week after Florence Welch, the frontman, released a cryptic video of her screaming into a hole in the earth.

“Everybody Scream” opens with beautiful and ethereal harmonizing by Welch that is quickly followed by a catchy bass riff and drum beat. The song comes alive in its electric music video with choreography that parallels possession and lyrics that are similar to a spell a witch might cast: “The harvest, the needle protect me from evil / The magic and the misery, madness and the mystery.” Like many Florence + the Machine songs, “Everybody Scream” makes you want to jump around and dance.
