Broadside confronts grueling effects of manipulation on groovy new single “Control Freak”

Date:

Broadside’s newest banger is guaranteed to get tied up in your mind the second you press play. The Richmond, VA pop-rockers have unleashed “Control Freak,” the latest single from their upcoming fifth album Nowhere, At Last

The track tackles the intensity of breaking free from emotional manipulation. “Control Freak” focuses on the unavoidable weight felt while losing control and the fight that follows to regain it. With soaring vocals, ruthless lyricism and relentless guitar riffs, Broadside crafts a heavy-hitting effort that will resonate with anyone who’s had to reclaim their independence. Speaking on “Control Freak,” vocalist Oliver Baxxter shares,

“It’s about being controlled by someone else, and slowly realizing how much of yourself you’ve handed over. The quiet violence of being told it’s all in your head.”

Broadside will be hitting the road soon in support of The Maine for a few shows this April. The band will then be heading to the UK for a co-headlining run with Hands Like Houses leading up to their Slam Dunk Festival slot this May. Tickets and information for all of Broadside’s upcoming shows can be found here.
