baers stabs his way through with debut single “Knife”

Boston-based artist baers has made a piercing entrance with his debut single, “Knife.” A deeply personal song, this track allows listeners an emotional, cinematic experience. A blend of guitar strumming and string plucking stacked on a gentle blend of lead vocals and harmonies, baers is reminiscent of artists such as Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes.

Exploring themes of toxicity and abuse, baers perfectly crafted a raw yet relatable example of losing oneself in the midst of a relationship. Repeated as the chorus throughout the song Baers asks, “How can you love someone if they can’t love themselves?”. He shares more about the single:

“This song is my attempt to capture the feelings of an abusive relationship where the partner’s abuse isn’t always a conscious decision and you have tried to hold space for them at the cost of yourself.”

“Knife” has been released as the first single of baers’ debut EP, which will continue to establish his artistry.
