Maris proves her star power in Boston

Date:

Maris has been on a generational run this year and we’ve truly seen her star power shine through each time we cover a show of hers. It’s a beautiful thing to witness. Maris’ love for Boston runs deep as well, going back to playing her first ever music festival at Boston Calling in May 2024 which was such a special moment. Along with playing shows in Boston she has also worked alongside the Boston Music Project, which helps bring music lessons to schools that can’t afford them, where she would do a small show for the kids there, a truly heartwarming moment that always sparks joy.

Maris has been a busy girl this year, having toured in Boston just earlier this year opening for Maude Latour which was such an iconic tour. We also got the chance in March to sit down in person with her for a quick interview that you can check out here on our site!

Since we last saw Maris in March she has released “Give Me A Sign featuring the lovely Caroline Kingsbury, whom she is currently on a co headline tour with as we speak. The song is an absolute bop and one that is a fan favorite for sure, and currently her top song ever released with over 2 million streams. Since then she has been on a music tear releasing “Mary + I”, “It’s Hard To Be a Man”, and most recently “SUPER F*CKING MEGAST*R” . All of which are brilliant songs in their own way and so much fun to hear live.

The Boston show was one of her best yet, having her first ever co headline tour alongside Caroline Kingsbury. Fans of both artists were in for a treat as both of them traded sets back and forth, starting with Caroline kicking the night off. Maris would come in after and play a few songs from her ever growing catalog, including “The Fight”, “Heavenly Bodies”, and tear jerker “Chameleon”, to which the crowd held up their phone lights and sang (and cried) along. She would trade places with Caroline once more and after the both of them sat down and did a short acoustic set and took fan questions. They ended up doing a cover of queer icon Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club to the crowds delight, with Maris conveniently in a pink cowboy hat. Fans screamed the lyrics back in unison and it gave me chills hearing just how loud they were, it was everything. Maris decided to sing her heartfelt song “Goodbye Forever” fully unplugged while standing on top of the bar in the back, such a sweet moment that brought everyone closer together.

The night ended with both Maris and Caroline singing their hit song “Give Me A Sign” and it was such a great end to such a joyous night. This is such a special tour and both Maris and Caroline planned it out so well, having fans open up the show with their own karaoke numbers and special VIP moments. Maris and Caroline always create such a safe and welcoming space at their shows for the queer community and this one was extra special for sure.
