LIVE PHOTOS + REVIEW: The Black Keys // Raleigh, NC

Date:

The Black Keys brought their “Let’s Rock” tour to the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC this past Friday. The group is currently on a North American tour supporting their first album in five years and if you are in need of a good ol’ fashion rock and roll concert, you better get yourself to their show.

Attendees got a large dose of new tunes off “Let’s Rock” but their solid hour and a half set included many fan-favorited classics like “Tighten Up,” “Lonely Boy,” and “Little Black Submarines” which had the arena participating in many fierce sing-a-longs. The power duo, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, were accompanied by three other musicians which added nicely to their powerfully strong sound. The big Black Keys marquee sign dropped in to float behind them as they kicked off the show with “I Got Mine.” The production got bigger and better as the show rolled on, with a massive screen behind the band projected psychedelic live footage of them performing.

A huge electric chair joined the group onstage for their encore. Their new album features an electric chair on the front cover and was inspired by convicted killer Edmund Zagorski, who requested the electric chair over lethal injection in November 2018. His last words were “Let’s rock.”
