Ashe embarked on her first ever headline tour (appropriately named “Mom’s First Headline Tour”) this past September. On Monday night, the singer-songwriter played an incredible sold-out show at the Troubadour with support from Charlie Burg and Gavin Haley. Gavin Haley opened the show with an intimate and enjoyable acoustic set, serenading the audience with some groovy, melancholic songs from Long Game, his new EP to be released this Friday, October 18th. In an evening full of surprises, Haley was not only joined by Ella Vos for his performance of “The Way I Am,” but was also brought out for an acoustic duet himself during Ashe’s set. The guest appearances didn’t stop there; the crowd was delighted to see Quinn XCII join Ashe on the small Troubadour stage for a song. It was easy to discern Ashe’s excitement at headlining the iconic venue. She was all smiles throughout the whole show, gushing about how happy she was to be there, even laughing at herself through tears while she performed a somber song about her divorce. Though the transition from subdued, heartbreaking piano songs to lively, beat-heavy jams was at times jarring, the set was held together by Ashe’s consistently impressive vocals and ability to charm the audience.
