ZØYA releases resilient electropop anthem “It’s Alright”

Date:

On Oct. 9, Los Angeles-based artist ZØYA released bouncy electro-pop song “It’s Alright.” In her single, she tackles overcoming anxiety while also addressing her view of the political division present in our current state of the world.

ZØYA starts her song with her journey with anxiety. The indie pop singer doesn’t shy away from mentioning the physical side effects of anxiety when she sings, “My body’s breaking, breaking down / I’m running from anxiety, it’s wearing me down.” Nevertheless, ZØYA is determined to remain optimistic as she fights the pain as she belts out “It’s gonna be ok” in the chorus.

The second verse begins to touch on the current state of the world as ZØYA sings, “You gotta hang in there / In crazy times like this” in the second verse. The Belarus native believes that “it’s important to unite together as people in peace, hope, faith and love” during tough times. Her message is clear when she sings, “Facing all the storms / We gotta rise above” over a beautiful buildup that later leads to a satisfying beat drop when the chorus comes up again.

According to ZØYA, her goal in her music is to “share my story with everyone, give encouragement through music and dynamic live shows, and most importantly, spread the message of love, hope and self-empowerment.” By preaching unity to listeners in “It’s Alright,” ZØYA never fails to meet that goal. If you’re looking for an electric artist who isn’t scared to comment on issues while also bringing a positive vibe to music, then ZØYA is the artist for you.
