Tamil Canadian artist Yanchan Produced has released his new single “Stay Familiar” featuring Canadian hip-hop artist Kwazii and Indian artist Mitika Kanwar. The single blends Carnatic music, R&B, and hip-hop in a unique fusion celebrating Toronto’s diversity while staying true to Yanchan Produced’s roots as a South Asian artist.
In “Stay Familiar,” Yanchan Produced takes inspiration from late night R&B, Drake, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. The track opens up with a wonderful, dreamlike interlude with Kwazii’s smooth vocals singing about making the best of both worlds as an artist and a person living in the city. Mitika’s tranquil yet rapid-fire vocals accompanied by Yanchan’s multi-instrumental productions fuse different genres into a perfect cacophony of multiculturalism.
