Windser reflects on a fleeting love with vulnerable new single “Lose You”

Date:

From his stellar self-titled debut, Windser thoughtfully displays feelings of heartbreak, loss, and vulnerability in “Lose You.” The hauntingly mesmerizing track serves as the most recent single from the album, which was released on May 16th, and can be streamed here

“Lose You” sees singer/songwriter Jordan Topf in denial of losing a romantic partner and desperately craving one more night together. The lyrics are simple, yet incredibly personal and emotionally heavy. The repetition of “before I lose you” throughout the song presents itself as a distraught last effort to pretend everything is okay. “Lose You” feels like an emotional punch to the gut with relatable and introspective lyrics on top of a soft, melancholic instrumental.

Windser’s true talent lies in his ability to find the perfect balance between radiant melodies and intensely raw lyricism. “Lose You” combines the two flawlessly from start to finish in a way that’s meant to resonate with its audience. It’s a deeply personal track that evokes a new thought or emotion with each listen. The vocal delivery is another element of the song that’s crucial to its meaning, with every note matching the overall somber mood displayed in the lyrics and production. Windser is a beautifully crafted debut that gives Topf’s overwhelming feelings of heartbreak, denial, and love a place to call home.
