Post Animal with Joe Keery release “Pie in the Sky” off their upcoming album

Date:

For the first time in nearly a decade, the original Post Animal lineup is back together to release their new album IRON. The Chicago psych-rock band reunites after tirelessly touring with their different lineup and members relocating to different spots around the country.

The last time the band were together was 2017 before Joe Keery (of Netflix’s Stranger Things and DJO fame) left due to scheduling conflicts. About bringing back that 2017 energy, vocalist guitarist Javi Reyes says,

“It’s a return to ourselves, but down the road, feeling better than we ever have.”

The band agrees that this was “an easy album to make,” literally reuniting with old friends, each individual bringing new growth, a new jammy experimentation that coalesces into something new but familiar. The new track “Pie in the Sky” is Post Animal riffing off of each other and having fun, all while keeping the tight intensity of veteran musicians.

The highlight of this track is the alternating vocals, messing around with different singers, cadences, and caricature-esque experimentation. “Pie in the Sky” is bright and airy with the rejuvenated spirit of friends brought back together.

IRON is out everywhere July 25th. You can stream the new single “Pie in the Sky” below. Post Animal is also going on tour with DJO. Tickets can be found here.
