New Constellations teases debut album with new single “I Disappear”

Date:

Portland-based duo New Constellations has released a new single titled “I Disappear” off their upcoming debut album, It Comes In Waves, arriving on May 15, 2026. The new synth-pop track is an ethereal earworm filled with dreamy synths and electric guitars.

“I Disappear” showcases both Harlee Case and Josh Smith at their best in terms of vocal performance and production, respectively. Case opens the song with a hypnotizing spoken-word hook, singing “Wake up / Wake up / Wake up / Silent,” before channeling Gwen Stefani in her delivery in the rest of the song.

Lyrically, the duo opens up about self-doubt and anxiety, and how that manifests and becomes self-destructive, singing “I hide inside my aching dream / I leave it up to fate to see / I try to give with no regret / But I can’t get it out of my head.”

About the meaning behind the record, the Case says:

I was going through a really heavy time, and ‘I Disappear’ was written as a stream of consciousness. It’s based on the idea that when you start to spiral about shit and get super in your head about something, you disappear from yourself and the present moment.”
