Micah Emrich shows resilience in soulful ballad “I DON’T CARE”

Date:

Milwaukee-based Micah Emrich has released “I DON’T CARE,” a heartfelt ballad about remaining confident when self-doubt arises. The timeless track is part of his upcoming sophomore LP, HARD TO LOVE, scheduled for release on October 10. Pre-save the album here

While Emrich’s last single, “GAMES” combined funk, R&B, and pop, “I DON’T CARE” leans into a doo-wop sound with its guitar-driven instrumentation reminiscent of Bruno Mars’ “If I Knew.” Here, his soulful vocals shine throughout the song, bringing the raw emotion that is necessary to make the record work.

In the new single, the singer-songwriter encourages resilience while pursuing dreams and shuts down any naysayers. He sings, “I do not care what I’m called / I rather lose than do nothing at all / Baby, you think we’ve been through it all / Uninvolved from the moment that you thought I couldn’t achieve like all of your dreams.”

“I DON’T CARE” is one of four songs Emrich has released off his new album, joining the previously released tracks, “ICU,” “MEDICINE,” and “GAMES.” Fans can pay any amount to gain early access to HARD TO LOVE here. To celebrate the release of the album, Emrich will perform the new songs at the Cactus Club in Milwaukee, WI, on October 18. Find tickets for the live show here.
