Keo get hauntingly emotional on “Crow”

Date:

Coming off of a tour supporting Kings of Leon earlier in the year, “Crow” is the latest release from the London based Keo. The four-piece band recorded the track live in March at 123 Studios in Peckham.

“Crow” tells a story about someone preparing to lose a family member to disease, but still desperately hoping that they can pull through. The message of the song is based off of lyricist and lead vocalist Finn Keogh’s own life, having a family member battling cancer that they have since beaten.

Instrumentally, the song has a cinematic and looming air about it. The vocal performance from Keogh pulls the song together as it reaches its climax towards the three-minute mark. By the end of the track, much of the beginning lyrical nihilism remains, but the soft drumbeat and uplifting guitar hint at something hopeful to come.

Keo will be playing at Neighborhood and Left of the Dial festivals in October.
