“This album is a statement regarding humanity, capitalism, Americana, the inner child and the irony of faith,” he wrote.

He said the album was written and mostly recorded live, and reportedly captures “the raw immediacy of this moment” for Batiste.

“This album is a circus of love. Drawing on the absurdity, chaos, spectacle, drama and comedy of life being akin to a circus and building on the symbolism and mythology of tent culture. Under our tent there is revival and joy,” he added. “You don’t lose your soul, you gain it!”

Batiste is also set to embark on a 30-date North American Big Money Tour on Aug. 27, with stops in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Eugene, Madison, Omaha and Nashville.
