Emmrose yearns for a second chance in “Tattoo”

Date:

Emmrose Tattoo

Emmrose speaks from the heart through the lens of indie-pop. The NY-based artist released her debut EP Hopeless Romantics right before the Covid lockdown. Even throughout this confusing and frustrating time, she still ended up on Spotify editorials and won “Best Pop Album” in the 2020 WAM Awards. She’s been consistently writing and releasing since her first single, which has turned into a discography of 2 full-length albums and other singles as well.

“Tattoo” is an incredibly vulnerable yet relatable song for those who keep running back to someone. Emmrose sings “For you, I’d change myself to have your love again” atop a crunchy guitar melody that continues to intensify. The buildup in the song is not only satisfying, but really sells us on the honesty of the lyrics. “Tattoo” could easily be on a Soccer Mommy or Grace Enger record. If you enjoy singer-songwriters with clever use of metaphors and raw lyricism, check out the rest of Emmrose‘s discography.
