Young the Giant release “Metropolis” ahead of the 10th anniversary edition of ‘Mind Over Matter’

10 and a half years have passed since rock band Young the Giant released their iconic album, Mind Over Matter, on January 17, 2014. Now, this month, the band is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the album with a brand new edition, to be released on July 26.

The band, which debuted in 2004 currently consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar) and Francois Comtois (drums), have also released a never-before-released track titled “Metropolis,” which was was written and recorded by Gadhia while creating Mind Over Matter 10 years ago. The band teased the track last year during the American Bollywood World Tour, where they performed acoustic versions of the song.

Originally promoted by the singles “It’s About Time” and “Crystallized”, the album reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums, both in 2014.

The title track “Mind Over Matter” and its reprise, which released on April 18, 2015, has continued to rise in plays, with both versions amassing more than 220 million streams on Spotify.

The new edition comes in clear smoke vinyl and includes a 12-page booklet, fold-out poster and an exclusive slipcover, as well as three never-before-released demos, along with “Metropolis.”
